After the positive and exciting experience of the 2018 edition, the initiative «Running without Frontiers – All Together» is back in 2019, created to open the doors of the Ravenna Marathon City of Art to all people with disabilities who do not have the athletic training and the possibility of completing the most demanding distances already provided for by the program. The great event of the 10th of November, anticipated by a weekend full of initiatives, confirms once again an increasingly broader range of events really open to everyone, without any distinction.

The project “Running without Frontiers” was born within the Coordination for motor and sports activity adapted to the person with intellectual disability created in 2016 by the CSI of Ravenna and the Social Cooperative La Pieve and can be considered a sort of spin-off of the “Playing without borders” event, a meeting aimed at athletes with disabilities and dedicated to promoting social inclusion through athletics competitions and sports tournaments, organized in the past with the involvement of Social Cooperatives and sports clubs in the area.

Under the slogan “sport is for everyone”, a short trip will be arranged that will bring disabled athletes and their companions to walk about 3 km of the marathon route in the historic center, among the most beautiful monuments of the city, until you reach the finish line in Via di Roma where all the runners of the different distances proposed by the organization of the event will arrive.

To “Running without Frontiers” will be admitted all those who are able to complete the short journey in a maximum time of 60 minutes, starting from the area of ​​Porta Serrata and thus avoiding the difficulties that could have created the joyful, but chaotic, group departure. The arrival instead will be just in Via di Roma in the common frame of the event giving the joy of the finish, perhaps with arms raised, to all the participants.

Each athlete will have a companion recognizable by an identifying sign, a familiar face that will support and guide him during the test. At the time of registration it will be necessary to specify the difficulties of each individual athlete in order to allow a better organization. The route can be tackled on the run or by walking, with the possibility of stopping to catch the side road if necessary.

The wheelchairs, and the people used to push them, will have the obligation, excluding the time of departure, to travel the route in a row, joining only when a possible overtaking takes place. A real test reserved for disabled people, who, in a day of celebration throughout Ravenna, will find their space and will be able to carve out a moment of joy by cutting the prestigious and coveted milestone of the Ravenna Marathon City of Art with arms raised 2019.

Dopo la positiva ed emozionante esperienza dell’edizione 2018 torna anche nel 2019 l’iniziativa «Correndo senza Frontiere – Tutti Insieme», nata per aprire le porte della Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte anche a tutte le persone con disabilità che non hanno la preparazione atletica e la possibilità di compiere le distanze più impegnative già previste dal programma. Il grande evento del prossimo 10 Novembre, anticipato da un weekend ricco di iniziative, si conferma ancora una volta contenitore sempre più ampio di appuntamenti davvero aperti a tutti, senza alcuna distinzione.

Il progetto di «Correndo senza Frontiere» nasce all’interno del Coordinamento per l’attività motoria e sportiva adattata alla persona con disabilità intellettiva creato nel 2016 dal CSI di Ravenna e dalla Cooperativa Sociale La Pieve e può considerarsi una sorta di spin-off della manifestazione «Giocando senza frontiere», meeting rivolto ad atleti con disabilità e dedicato alla promozione dell’inclusione sociale attraverso gare di atletica e tornei di sport, organizzato in passato con il coinvolgimento di Cooperative Sociali e  società sportive del territorio.

All’insegna dello slogan «lo sport è per tutti», verrà predisposto un breve tragitto che porterà gli atleti disabili, ed i loro accompagnatori, a percorrere circa 3 km del percorso della Maratona nel centro storico, fra i monumenti più belli della città, sino ad arrivare al traguardo di Via di Roma dove sopraggiungeranno tutti i runner delle diverse distanze proposte dall’organizzazione dell’evento.

A «Correndo senza Frontiere – Tutti Insieme» saranno ammessi tutti coloro che risultano in grado di completare il breve percorso in un tempo massimo di 60 minuti, partendo dalla zona di Porta Serrata ed evitando così le difficoltà che poteva creare la gioiosa, ma caotica, partenza in gruppo. L’arrivo invece sarà proprio in Via di Roma nella comune cornice della manifestazione regalando la gioia del traguardo, magari a braccia alzate, a tutti i partecipanti.

Ogni atleta avrà un accompagnatore riconoscibile da un segno identificativo, un volto noto che lo supporterà e lo guiderà durante la prova. Al momento dell’iscrizione sarà comunque necessario precisare le difficoltà di ogni singolo atleta in modo da consentire una migliore organizzazione. Il percorso potrà essere affrontato di corsa oppure camminando, con la possibilità di fermarsi per rifiatare, se necessario, a lato della strada.

Le carrozzine, e le persone adibite a spingerle, avranno l’obbligo, escluso il momento della partenza quando partiranno in fondo al gruppo, di percorrere il tragitto in fila affiancandosi solo nel momento di un eventuale sorpasso. Una vera e propria prova riservata alle persone disabili, le quali, in una giornata di festa per tutta Ravenna, troveranno il loro spazio e potranno ritagliarsi un momento di gioia tagliando a braccia alzate il prestigioso ed ambito traguardo della Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte 2019.
