Fare attività fisica e nel frattempo aiutare la propria città, difendere l’ambiente e dimostrare senso civico può essere divertente, anche ai tempi del Covid. Lo hanno testato, nel tardo pomeriggio di ieri, i tantissimi cittadini ravennati che si sono incontrati al Parco Baronio e da lì sono partiti, di passo o di corsa, verso diversi punti della città.

Ha suscitato grande entusiasmo, confermato da una corposa partecipazione di cittadini di ogni età, il primo “Plogging Day” promosso a Ravenna. Ad organizzare l’evento l’associazione Ravenna Runners Club, nota per il grande evento internazionale rappresentato dalla Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte, che ha chiamato a raccolta tutti coloro che desideravano provare un nuovo modo di approcciarsi all’attività fisica e, allo stesso tempo, difendere l’ambiente ripulendo strade e aree verdi.

Un consenso e una partecipazione che sono andati ben oltre ogni più rosea aspettativa, con apprezzamenti giunti sia da chi ha preso parte all’iniziativa, sia da chi ha visto sfilare per le vie della città gruppetti di persone intente a camminare o correre. Già, perché il Plogging è proprio questo: raccogliere oggetti, cartacce e tanto altro lungo strade, marciapiedi o nei parchi mentre si fa attività fisica, concedendosi pause per riempire il proprio sacco di cartacce, lattine abbandonate e altro ancora.

Per oltre un’ora piccoli gruppetti eterogenei di amici, parenti e conoscenti, armati di guanti e sacchetti forniti da Hera, hanno raccolto materiale di ogni tipo e, dopo averlo accatastato al loro arrivo nel punto di ritrovo di Parco Baronio, hanno provveduto a riporlo negli appositi cassonetti.

“È stata un’esperienza divertente e allo stesso tempo gratificante – racconta Stefano Righini, presidente di Ravenna Runners Club – che ancora una volta ha dimostrato la grande voglia dei nostri cittadini di impegnarsi con senso civico e, approfittando anche di una bella giornata di sole, di fare attività sportiva. Vedere insieme persone di ogni età che sorridevano e partecipavano con piacere a questa iniziativa ha rappresentato per noi un grande risultato. Una bella esperienza per tutti che certamente ripeteremo come ci hanno richiesto in tantissimi”.

L’evento era inserito nel contenitore di eventi all’aria aperta Ravenna Park Training promosso proprio in queste settimane in collaborazione con il CSI Ravenna-Lugo e Gym Academy Asd.

In the late afternoon of yesterday (8th July), the many citizens of Ravenna who met at the Baronio Park tested it and from there they started, either step or run, towards different points of the city.

The first “Plogging Day” promoted in Ravenna has provoked great enthusiasm, confirmed by a substantial participation of citizens of all ages. To organize the event, the Ravenna Runners Club association, known for the great international event represented by the Ravenna Marathon City of Art, which called together all those who wished to try a new way of approaching physical activity and, at the same time, defend the environment by cleaning roads and green areas.

A consensus and participation that went far beyond all expectations, with appreciation from both those who took part in the initiative and those who saw groups of people walking or running parading through the streets of the city. Yes, because Plogging is just that: collecting objects, waste and much more along roads, sidewalks or in parks while doing physical activity, taking breaks to fill your sack of waste, abandoned cans and more.

For over an hour, small heterogeneous groups of friends, relatives and acquaintances, armed with gloves and bags supplied by Hera, collected materials of all kinds and, after having piled them upon their arrival at the meeting point of Parco Baronio, they proceeded to store them. in the appropriate bins.

“It was a fun and at the same time rewarding experience – says Stefano Righini, president of Ravenna Runners Club – which once again showed the great desire of our citizens to engage with a civic sense and, also taking advantage of a beautiful sunny day , to do sports. Seeing together people of all ages who smiled and participated with pleasure in this initiative represented a great result for us. A nice experience for everyone that we will certainly repeat as many of us have asked for. “

The event was included in the Ravenna Park Training outdoor events container promoted in recent weeks in collaboration with the CSI Ravenna-Lugo and Gym Academy Asd.
